Somali Researchers Association (SRA) is guided by professional leadership committed to research integrity, institutional accountability and the delivery of reliable evidence. SRA’s leadership provides strategic direction, maintains quality and ethical standards, and ensures that assignments respond to the needs of clients, partners and communities
Organizational Structure
SRA operates through a flexible, project-based structure designed to respond effectively to different research and consulting assignments. The Managing Director provides overall leadership, while qualified technical specialists, project coordinators and field teams are assigned according to the expertise and requirements of each assignment.
SRA’s work is organised through the following functional departments:
Managing Director
Director provides strategic and operational leadership to SRA. He oversees institutional development, client partnerships, research quality, field operations and the delivery of consulting assignments.
Research, Evaluation and Policy Advisory
Responsible for research design, baseline and endline studies, programme evaluations, needs assessments, policy research and advisory assignments.
Monitoring and Field Operations
Responsible for third-party monitoring, CAPI and CATI data collection, field planning, enumerator deployment, supervision, verification and nationwide coordination.
Data Quality, Analytics and GIS
Responsible for data-quality assessments, data cleaning, statistical analysis, dashboards, geographic information systems, mapping and the presentation of research findings.
Knowledge, Publications and Communications
Responsible for research reports, policy briefs, knowledge products, academic publications, research flashcards, the Global Research Podcast and Somali Researchers’ Night.
Business Development and Partnerships
Responsible for expressions of interest, technical proposals, institutional partnerships, client relations and identifying new research and consulting opportunities.
Finance, Administration and Compliance
Responsible for financial management, procurement, contracts, human resources, administration and compliance with institutional and client requirements.
Departmental functions are coordinated through the Office of the Managing Director. For each assignment, SRA appoints technical leads and project coordinators based on the subject area, methodology, geographic coverage and client requirements.
Independent Research Ethics Committee
SRA’s Research Ethics Committee operates independently from project implementation teams. It reviews research involving human participants and assesses research protocols, consent procedures, data-protection measures and potential risks to participants.
